What's New on TaxnetPRO

                                                                        Version française

As part of our ongoing commitment to give you the best tax information available anywhere, we are proud to announce the following significant enhancements to TaxnetPRO:

TaxnetPRO Release 2.25 (May 2008)

Summary of New and Revised Features

Enhancements Proposed May 30, 2008

1. Tax&EstatePlanningCentre subscribers will now get email notification of documents that are unique to Tax&EstatePlanningCentre.  Newsletters, new Articles, new Guides, etc. will now be included in the regular email push, but only Tax&EstatePlanningCentre customers will see these items, ensuring they get the extra value that they are paying for. These documents will also appear in the Table of Contents and will be searchable, but non-Tax&EstatePlanningCentre customers will get a Pay Per View message if they attempt to view them.

2. Automatic change in the author profiled in the Tax&EstatePlanningCentre Spotlight On section whenever the page is loaded. This demonstrates to users that the site is dynamic and gives users greater visibility of the range of experts who write for us.

3. A new TaxNews archive page (similar to Tax&EstatePlanningCentre's, What's New functionality) which enables us to provide a convenient, easy to use archive of items found in the TaxNews of previous days. So if a user recalls an item she saw in a previous day’s TaxNews posting, she can quickly scroll through the archives to find and access it. Saves time and effort for the user!

4. Add GST document Pinpoint search on Home Page enabling the user to call up a GST document by reference number from the home page without having to click to the search template. Users will also be able to jump quickly to any section of the Excise Tax Act using the enhanced Pinpoint search. We have received terrific feedback on the addition of Pinpoint searching for Government Document and Income Tax section, and fulfilling a request for a similar feature for GST documents. Convenient and improves user productivity!

5.  A new cross-reference link in cases that are under appeal will alert users that the case they are viewing has been appealed. The link will take the user to the additional information that is found in the Tables of Cases under Appeal. This ensures that the user does not rely on a case that may well be reversed in the future. Helps manage risk!

6. TaxNews now sorted in reverse chronological order by date and time, making it much easier for the user to identify the most recent materials in TaxNews.  More intelligent design, giving more information, to save user time and effort.

7. On-the-fly choice of file format for document saves. Currently, a user can select a file format (e.g. RTF) in Preferences, but cannot easily change this when saving individual documents. We’ve made it easier to do that!

8. More Home Page improvements are being made. This will improve the look and feel of the one page that is viewed with every login, and again improve ease of use.

9. The existing button named "Currency Notes" on the toolbar is being changed to "Editor Notes" to better reflect the value that is being delivered by our team of experts.

10. A new TaxNews checkbox in the Advanced Search Template that is always on will remind the user that TaxNews is always included in the search. This makes the search template easier to use and understand.
